University Of Cape Town Psychology
University Of Cape Town Psychology,
Psychology is about the ways in which people’s minds develop and change over a lifetime. It is about groups and societies, as well as individuals, and about normal as well as troubled, distressed or traumatized behaviour.
Apart from being one route to a professional career working with people, it is also a strong research discipline. At UCT we offer thorough research training, and for this you will need basic mathematics skills.
UCT Department of Psychology is considered one of the strongest departments of psychology in South Africa in terms of its research output. It is the only Psychology department in Africa ranked in the top 200 QS Word University Rankings for 2015.
At present, the Department houses three of the country’s top five psychologists as rated by the National Research Foundation. Staff members publish in many areas, but there is a strong focus on clinical psychology, social psychology, and cognitive neuropsychology.
